Earlier this month, there were reports that OpenAI is set to add its Sora AI model to ChatGPT. Now, a new report indicates that signs of this addition have begun to appear in the chatbot's code. This raises questions about how the San Francisco AI company intends to tell apart Sora in ChatGPT from the separate Sora app. However, this change will also bring the popular AI video-making feature to the main ChatGPT application. According to a report by Android Authority, the AI company has begun to integrate Sora into ChatGPT. The report found clues of this in the Android app version 1.2026. 076 of ChatGPT, which is the latest version available. During an analysis of the app’s code, multiple text sections were discovered that directly refer to this integration. These sections reportedly state, “Video in ChatGPT is here,” followed by, “Transform text and image into video with dialogue, soundtrack, and style. ” Other phrases found include “Try it with a photo,” “Create video,” and “Explore, create, and share videos. ”
It’s worth mentioning that these phrases seem to be part of the interface that users will see. Such elements are typically not included unless the feature is nearly ready for launch. While this doesn’t guarantee that Sora will definitely be part of ChatGPT, the likelihood has certainly increased. Another point to consider is that the snippet doesn’t specifically say Sora. Although the description hints at it, OpenAI may deliberately be avoiding the name to keep it distinct from the independent app. Earlier this month, The Information reported that the company plans to keep the Sora app and website running even with the ChatGPT integration. It's also important to note that the Sora app hasn’t been fully available worldwide yet. The company has also launched an Android version of the video creation app, but that is still not out in many places. Therefore, it is uncertain whether the AI video feature in the chatbot will also be limited to specific areas or if it will be available everywhere from the start.
