
Later in this year, the R&b superstar Rihanna is going to be honored by the Parsons School of Design Benefit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Umbrella” hitmaker will be feted for her career and also philanthropic efforts alongside the fashion designer Eileen Fisher and bosses at Neiman Marcus on 22nd May at the Pier Sixty in New York.
The Parsons School of Design is happy and also proud to present this honor to Rihanna, as she has inspired millions of people with her powerful music and also distinct style, a statement from the Parsons School of Design executive dean Joel Towers reads.
The statement also reads, she has championed our recent alumni on a number of occasions by wearing their designs, and she is creating the important philanthropic programs, that support communities by fostering the effective education, health, and also emergency response programs around the world through her Clara Lionel Foundation.
The 29-year-old singer, has been active in raising the awareness and funds for charity throughout her career, including hosting the Diamond Ball gala, that has been benefiting her Clara Lionel Foundation since the year 2014.

She founded the organisation, which provides support to the underprivileged communities, in the year 2012. The foundation is named after her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite.
A statement from Rihanna adds that, it is such a thrill to know that a design school as prestigious as the Parsons School of Design would present me with this honor. I consistently find creative and exciting designs coming from the Parsons alumni, so I feel a deep connection with the school. But I am especially grateful that Parsons recognized me for the work I have done in regards to the philanthropy.
Rihanna also received the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the Harvard University earlier in this year and praised the benefits of charity.
