Google has launched the Android 16 Beta 3.2 update for developers and beta testers. This update, available for select Pixel devices, addresses issues such as excessive battery drain, inaccurate haptic feedback, and various other concerns. According to the tech giant from Mountain View, this version is the most recent testing iteration of their smartphone operating system, serving as a minor enhancement to Android 16 Beta 3. It builds upon the Android 16 Developer Preview 3 that was released earlier this month. Google indicates that the Android 16 Beta 3.2 update resolves multiple issues that users experienced with previous versions on Google Pixel devices. The update features a build number of BP22.250221.015 and upgrades the Google Play Services version to 25.07.33.

The changelog highlights that it addresses a specific issue where haptic feedback became miscalibrated during the use of the app drawer with haptics activated, while typing on the virtual keyboard, or when executing the back gesture. Users noted that the strength of haptic feedback varied with each instance of use. Additionally, there were complaints regarding battery life, with devices starting at a full charge of 100 percent around 10 PM, yet losing approximately 16 percent of their charge overnight. Google confirms that the Android 16 Beta 3.2 update rectifies this problem. Another issue reported on Google’s Issue Tracker involved screen flickering on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro when using the camera to take photos or videos, and this has also been fixed. Furthermore, the update includes enhancements aimed at improving system stability and overall usability, according to Google.

In addition to bug fixes, the Android 16 Beta 3.2 update incorporates the security patch for March 2025. Google states that all compatible devices participating in the Android Beta for Pixel program will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to Beta 3.2. However, it is important to recognize that updates under the beta program are pre-release versions and may include bugs or malfunctions that can disrupt standard device operation. It is also essential to note that users cannot unenroll and return to a stable public version of Android without erasing all locally stored data on their devices. Therefore, exercising caution is recommended.
